Now what?!
i was reading through my AI ( Artificial Intelligence) notes, i felt that people are trying to make something out of nothing!
people are so happy that Blue Deep won Kasparov! but come on lets face it, OK Blue Deep won 3 times, but at the same time Kasparov won 1 time and 2 draws, so regardless to the complexity of the machine, human can beat it!

Another thing, when we play chess, we are really thinking of it, there exist some kind of feeling, there is consciousness which helps us to know what is very trivial and what does really needs to spent time in thinking. machines does not have this grace, it just calculate each and every possibility.
Another case, human face recognition system, tell me, how much time do you take to recognize your mother face?, if you saw me just yesterday; can you know me today? do u have to compare these faces against the faces in your memory every time you see a face ?!
So I don't think that we can go far, with the existing algorithms and current computer architecture.

The Turing Test!
As-salamu Alykom Everyone,
Yesterday night, a youtube addicted friend sent some amazing links which i want to share with you people and to start my first Blog as well.
Yesterday night, a youtube addicted friend sent some amazing links which i want to share with you people and to start my first Blog as well.
The first video is about a female humanoid robot called Actroid, it(she) is very amazing she talks move her hands, body, and eyes just like a real human. it was there at the Tokyo International Robot Expo in December of 2005
The second video is also a female humanoid robot called Repliee Q1expo, she is the "most humanlike android ever built—and also quite attractive" said Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University. This robot blinks, her eyes dart around, her head shifts, her mouth twitches and sometimes she even smiles. With the help of sensors placed around the room, she also reacts to sound and movement (you can notice that in the video). The thing about this robot is no the intelligence- there is no intelligence machine inside- it is all about the powerful effect of subtle movement on the perception of humanness.
But still -at least in my point of view- I don't think we did much! just imagine how many loops are there in the program in either robot to make them blink or move their hand or eyes, imagine also the number of calculations made for the second robot in order to react to sounds and movements! we humans don't have to calculate how many time to blink in a minute, or what is the minimum amount of light or sound to make a reaction! Scientists are still wondering what makes us like this ?! well, i think it is the sole, because our sole is what keeps our bodies and brains alive! these robot does not have any lives, they are based on calculations, they don't have consciousness to be able to learn and feel. so i don't think we can reach a machine that can pass the Turing Test with 100/100 score!
at last, Enjoy the videos :)
